This easy hike is probably the first choice for somebody who wants to try (an optional) easy and short via ferrata. It will also give you some sense of exposure and people will easily discover if they are afraid of heights. Be warned that it can be crowded (also suitable for kids) and that you'll have to meet with people going in opposite direction.
Approach to the hike is going through a nice wood and is not steep, so even if you are not interested in trying via ferrata, this mountain is worth visiting.
On the other side of the mountain after walking on almost flat terrain, you can reach a nice and big hut, that is also the station for the cable car. Cable car is starting from the other side of mountain then our route, but it can still be used for a shortcut.
Needless to say, the view from both places (hut and Ettaler Manndl via ferrata) is great and you have a good view on Zugspitze and mountains nearby.
