One of the classics in Bavarian Prealps. Heimgarten is usually reached from the other side with easier route, but this one is more scenic as it also goes along the ridge.
Besides the first part that goes through the forest, closer to the Heimgarten's summit all the way to Herzogstand, you will have amazing views on the lakes nearby.
Ridge has cables on a few places, but they are mostly for tourists that are coming from cable car on Herzogstand, so there are no technically difficult parts.
You will have two good huts, but both of them (as well as peaks) are usually overrun by people.
