This route first visits Grünstein, the peak where you have one of the best views on famous Watzmann and Watzmannfrau. We took the walking path that is moderately steep in some sections, but not too difficult. The other option is to take one of the three excellent via ferrata to the summit.
Just below the Grünstein summit is a nice hut, so you can either rest there or use the other hut in the second part of the hike.
Second part of the hike is relatively flat and going through the woods most of the time. At the end of the route is not really Archenkopf, but a viewpoint near by, where you have a stunning view on Königsee.
