Alpspitze via Mathaisenkar

2628m

Wetterstein Mountains, Germany

One of the most beautiful routes in Wetterstein Mountains

On this hike you will see a lot of diverse landscapes, ranging from gorge to a climb on unmarked terrain.

First part is getting to Höllental george and going through it. If you haven't been here before, you will definitely spend some time taking pictures and enjoying the sights. Be warned that this gorge is closed if the weather is not nice, so check before going there.

After that you will go through Höllental valley where Zugspitze will dominate your views almost all the time to our summit. The path is pretty narrow and steep here until you get to the climbing part.

Here you will first have some climbing where you will have to be concentrated and follow pretty bad markings. Via ferrata part starts on the ridge all the way to the top where Jubiläumsgrat is joining our route to the summit of Alpspitze.

The route finishes by going down by beginners-friendly Alpspitze via ferrata where we take a rest in restaurant and a cable car to our starting position.
